Description:

Natalya Dinat is a medical doctor.  She was born in South Africa but spent the first part of her life  in exile. After returning to South Africa in 1991 she specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of the Witwatersrand.  She then went on to do research in women’s health and HIV at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto.  As a registrar she initiated the first ARV clinic for Prevention of Mother to child transmission of HIV in a state hospital. This clinic is still running.  She then went on to care for her patients with HIV and cancer and from 1999-2011 set up the first palliative care academic centre in the Country.  This Centre has been now been granted a University status.  She has a passion for teaching and learning, as well as public health and clinical research. In 2008 she joined the South African Faculty of Homeopathy to study part time.  She now works in private practice whilst completing her PhD at Wits, and intends to work in the field of homeoepathy.
