Description:
Practical tips to empower, equip and support your pregnant patients navigating birth.
All around the world birth is becoming more and more medicalised and with it women are
becoming more and more fearful of birth instead of seeing it as the beautiful right of passage
into motherhood that it should be. In South Africa our C-section rates are some of the highest
Internationally, sitting close to 90% of all births ending in a C-section in the private sector.
Dr Hannah will be sharing her experience of working as a Perinatal and Pediatric
Chiropractor in Canada and South Africa and what it looks like to draw alongside mothers as
they navigate planning a vaginal birth. She will also be sharing helpful practical tips that you
can implement in practise to help equip, prepare and empower your pregnant patients as they
approach their delivery.
In this presentation she will share:
- pain management
- pelvis balancing
- empowering mothers with a list of questions to ask their Ob/ midwife in preparation for
their birth
- basic birth plan writing guidelines
- the top 20 things to do in the last 6-8 weeks of pregnancy to prepare your body for a vaginal
birth
- establishing the role of the Dad during the birth
- tips on how Dad can best support the mom in pregnancy and birth
- forming and building trust with pregnant patients as their care provider
- how to protect the birth space to optimize chances of a vaginal delivery
