Elena van den Berg has a BTech in Occupational Health Nursing and has been a part of
the Leprosy mission since 2020 and did Leprosy training in India in 2026. Elena will be
doing an extensive talk on Leprosy using her knowledge and experience with this disease.
Elena will discuss the following points:
- What is Leprosy? – definition, signs and symptoms to look for
- Diagnoses and screening of Leprosy
- Prevalence of Leprosy internationally and locally
- Experiences in India
- Latest studies and information surrounding Leprosy
- Treatment protocols for Leprosy and how to deal with reactions
